Dr. Botti is founder and director
of CLP Research. He has a Ph.D. in history from The
Ohio State University and an M.B.A. in finance/marketing
from the Weatherhead School of Business at Case Western
Reserve University. Among his publications are Ace
in the Hole: Why the United States Did Not Use Nuclear
Weapons in the Cold War, 1945-1965 (Greenwood Press,
1996) and now available Envy
of the World, A History of the U.S. Economy and Big
Business (Algora Publishing, 2006).
Speaking about his approach to scholarship,
Dr. Botti says, “When preparing to write, I
conduct as thorough research as possible. I use inductive,
rather than deductive, reasoning to avoid the mistake
of making premature conclusions that exclude the discovery
of vital information. Although my approach is somewhat
time-consuming and demanding, the results are sounder.
I also put considerable effort into creating genealogies,
charts, graphs, and other illustrations to highlight
and confirm my findings.”
Preparing genealogies, charts, graphs,
and other illustrations for his books is how Dr. Botti
got the idea for PoliticalFamilyTree.com. The materials
appearing on this web site took years to accumulate.
The archive of PoliticalFamilyTree.com actually holds
many times the number of genealogies, maps, etc. now
on-line. More will be uploaded in an orderly fashion
over time.
